Ask Of God

I prayed so earnestly this last week that i would be able to have a sure witness that Joseph Smith is the prophet of this last dispensation. 

I have always believed. But, i wanted to know for sure. 

For Zone Conference we were asked to study joseph smith history. And i was so amazed at the faith this young boy had. I love his diligence and drive to know truth. 

I found my self in his same spot. Just wanting to know the truth! 

My prayers we answered!

As i finished my prayer this voice came my mind saying, 

"Think about all the places and things that have brought you the most love and joy? Its because of Joseph Smith." 

My heart was filled. It all made sense. 

The gospel is truly what has brought me the greatest love and joy in my life. 

As i sat singing and listening to the songs of the restoration at zone conference i couldn't help but cry. I can't deny that feeling i felt in my heart. I know he is the prophet of this final dispensation. I know for a surety that he, in reality, saw heavenly father and jesus christ.

It is simply all true. 

And i cant deny it. 

After Zone Conference, Sister Carter and i made a goal to bring up prophets in every interaction we had on the street the rest of the week.  

This goal felt super bold but we knew that the lord would bless us if we tried our best to teach restored truths to everyone we saw.  

As we left the flat we prayed that the lord would place in our path someone who would benefit from learning about prophets. 

Back story...2 weeks ago we spaced out some time on sunday morning to walk up and down the road and invite everyone we saw to church. We began talking to this man and out of the corner of our eye we saw this lady in a yellow and blue dress. We wanted to talk to her so bad but we were obviously having another conversation. We told each other that we would go back another day to speak to her! 

Back to the story...

As we were walking down the road when we saw this man sitting outside his house. We said hello and asked if we would be able to speak to him for a couple of minutes. He said yes and we proceeded to ask him where he goes to find truth. He started going on about how he was pretty lost in his belief and that he didnt really know what was true. 

We proceeded to tell him about prophets! His eyes lit up and he said that he wanted to learn more. We were able to bear powerful testimonies about how prophets have blessed our lives and have helped us to find truth. He was so excited! And the best part of this story is that this man is married to the lady we saw the week before! And come to find out he was actually locked out of his house. He typically wouldve been asleep during that time of day! We will be meeting with him this week! The lord truly answers prayers and blesses us for our efforts to go outside of our comfort zones. 

We started walking to a place where we felt we needed to study. Our bus had taken a wrong turn which pushed us behind. Once again we knew that we needed to talk to everyone we could about prophets. 

As we got off the bus we met with this lady. We asked her if we could speak for a moment and she stopped to listen. We began talking about jesus christ and she expressed how she started attending a Christian church with a friend because she wanted to know more about jesus christ being the son of god, not just a prophet. As the conversation went on we knew we needed to say what made us Jesus Christ true and restored gospel! We started telling her about prophets. She expressed that in her religion she also believes in prophets. 

I will never forget the look on her face when we said that we have a living prophet on the earth today. Her mouth dropped and she just kept saying, " Really?! Really?! Really?!"

She asked to see a picture and she continued to just be amazed. 

It was then that she started opening up about her strugglings. And how this is what she has been seeking to overcome these hard moments. 

This message of the restoration is life changing. It speaks to the heart. It reassures the world that everything will be okay. 

Im so grateful that i am a representative of Jesus Christ who gets to share the message of his restored gospel that is on the earth today.

I know heavenly father and jesus christ live and they answer every prayer.
