Home MTC
HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!
Man, the first week is no joke. I'm feeling tired and my little bum is a bit sore hahah BUTTTT I'm feeling spiritually fed!!
I LOVE IT!!! Being a missionary is seriously the coolest thing ever. I can't believe the time of doing the Lord's work is finally here! I feel beyond blessed!
Here's some highlights from my week:
- SHOUTOUT to my cute comp Sister Rowland! She is from Heber, Utah and is seriously my twin! She is a SPIRITUAL GIANT! She has taught me so much already and I couldn't be more blessed to have her in my life! I can't wait to hug her and learn and grow with her, we're gonna kill it!
(Those Helping Other appointments have nothing on us...)
- MY CUTE DISTRICT is just everything I would ever want + more! We are all so different which is what makes it so fun. I think districts are like your EFY groups on crack!! I seriously haven't laughed this much in a long time! They teach me so much everyday so I couldn't be more excited to learn more from them in person:)
- The MTC is like a spiritual fire hose just pounding me in the face, in a good way haha! I have never learned so much in one week. My teachers are so amazing, they totally make me want to work at the MTC when I get done serving. They carry the spirit in every word they say! I feel so blessed that I get to learn from them!
- Me and Sister Rowland had our first hypothetical "door slammed in our face moment" haha! Our helping others gal decided to not start the zoom meeting...so sad!! Despite our efforts preparing for this sweet lady the timing just wasn't right:( The church is still true though;)
- I have really had to grow the gift of patience this week. The first 3 days were super hard for me. At moments I would feel so inadequate. I would get frustrated with not understanding different concepts. At times I would forget what the purpose is in doing all of this. I started pleading with Heavenly Father and just asked him to help me feel more confident in what I was learning and also in myself as a missionary. And of course he answered my prayers. In the next 2 classes they focused on these 2 scriptures, Isaiah 28:10 & 2 Nephi 28:30. "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have."
After my teachers shared this scripture multiple times I knew that the spirit was trying to teach me a lesson. I'm not going to know everything at once, if I did then I wouldn't learn the principle of patience. I have really had to rely on what the spirit has taught me. "Line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little." and if I can keep that mentality I will be blessed because of my efforts!
- MY FAREWELL WAS PERFECT!! I can't believe how much love and support I had yesterday from everyone that has ever come into my life from friends to neighbors to family:) EVERYONE SHOWED UP!! So, thank you to everyone that was able to make it and help!
WEEK 1 REFLECTION:
1: Heavenly Father is teaching me to be patient & to trust the process! He is also teaching me how important it is to rely on the spirit!
2: My faith is growing in my testimony & its ability to touch other's I share it with:)
3: Conversion is an ongoing process----it takes time---it might not click right away----BE PATIENT!!
4: My testimony of the gospel teachings has grown---I'm gaining confidence in MYSELF as a missionary:)
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Ether 12:27
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for IF they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, THEN will I make weak things become strong unto them."
I love how in the scripture there's always IF THEN statements.
IF we do this THEN we will be blessed. That is so powerful to me. This scripture has truly resonated with me during this week and just going into my mission. I truly believe that as we turn to the lord during times of feeling inadequate or lost he will guide and show us our strengths.
HE LOVES EACH OF YOU SO MUCH!! Allow him to help you, love you, and guide you!
My heart is so full! I already love the people of England sooo much. I can't wait to show and teach the people there how much Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love them!
I love each of you so much! I want to hear from you!
Also for my missionary friends please please please add my mission email on your list so I can keep up with you! isabella.breinholt@missionary.org
